Description: The GeologyEDD format contains 1 grouping of 18 sections intended for the import of geologic data. The format sections are designed for the import of data related to location, well logs, geology, lithology, geological samples, and water levels.
Installation Instructions: The GeologyEDD format is included in the installation of EDP Standalone and EQuIS Professional in the \Formats\EarthSoft folder. This format is also provided with the installation of EQuIS Enterprise but requires configuration to be available in the Enterprise EDP EDD Upload widget. If the format should be configured for EQuIS Enterprise, an administrator will need to define the commit type and other EDP Enterprise elements as defined in the Workflow Widget and Add or Modify Enterprise EDP Formats articles.
Overview: The GeologyEDD format is a complex location EDD format that is typically used for creating well logs. The format can also be used to load data through EDP for use in the LogPlot Interface. The WaterLevel section will automatically calculate water_level_elev by subtracting water_level_depth from historical_reference_elev, but will not overwrite a provided value. This functionality matches that found in the EQEDD_v2 format.
Limitations/Assumptions: The checks and mappings in any EDD format involve assumptions. The following are limitations and assumptions for the GeologyEDD format:
•As this format does not map to the DT_TEST table, there are no relevant Test Alternate Keys (TAKs).
•The only section that maps to DT_LOCATION.SYS_LOC_CODE is Locations. If populating the sys_loc_code field in any other section, the location must already exist in the database or be present in the Locations section of the EDD.
•Subfacilities Section
•When populating site_task_code, a record must already exist in the DT_TASK table that matches on task_code.
•Locations Section
•If populating the loc_county_code field, the loc_state_code field must also be populated and the combination must already exist in the RT_COUNTY table.
•Wells Section
•If populating the geologic_unit_code field, the value must already exist in RT_GEOLOGIC_UNIT.GEOLOGIC_UNIT_CODE.
•GeologicSample Section
•If populating the sample_type_code field, the value must already exist in RT_SAMPLE_TYPE.SAMPLE_TYPE_CODE.
•WaterLevel Section
•The lnapl_cas_rn field is a lookup to RT_ANALYTE.CAS_RN, but the selected cas_rn must also be present in the RT_ANALYTE_DETAIL table. This does not apply to the dnapl_cas_rn field.
For custom checks and additional default mappings, please see the EDD Description file for the GeologyEDD format.
