EQuIS Link Overview

EQuIS Link is a powerful data mapping tool that can easily and repeatedly migrate a wide variety of input data sources to standard EQuIS electronic data deliverables (EDDs). Supported environmental and geotechnical data source types are:

Microsoft Excel (XLS, XLSX, XLSM)

Microsoft Access (MDB, ACCDB)

Comma Delimited Text (CSV)

Tab Delimited Text (TXT)

Universal Data Link (UDL)

gINT (GDT, DLB, GPJ)

AGS4 Format (AGS)

Geotech AB CPT files (CPT, DPT)

GeoTac UU/UC files (TRX)

GeoTac Consolidation Sigma (CTF)

Extensometer Data (DAT)

Generic XML (XML)

Hogentogler (CPT, DIS)

eQuote (XML)

Collect templates (XML)

Some basic statistical and batch processing tools facilitate data migration and large data set import processes.

Three general types of actions are performed with EQuIS Link:

Create Mapping Project Templates

Create EDDs and Upload to EQuIS

View Data and File Statistics

Users can create mapping project templates to map data from a variety of data sources to an EQuIS format (e.g., EQEDD format). The formula building and parser functionality eliminates the need to write code and allows data to be filtered based on a set of rules and conditions prior to loading into EQuIS. More than 70 functions are available for formula building.

Statistical tools can generate the counts of fields and values, such as, minimum, maximum, sum, average, and standard deviation of both source data files and created EDDs.

EQuIS Link Workflow

Once mapping project templates are constructed, the EQuIS Link workflow within Professional EDP to create EDDs is simple. Mapping project templates can be used repeatedly to load similar source data files to the appropriate EQuIS format sections and fields. Source data files can be processed individually or in batches. EDP can then be used to create EDDs for upload to an EQuIS database via the EDP commit process.

Note: The Enterprise workflow service can process files that do not conform to a specific EDP format by running the files through EQuIS Link, which will generate valid EDDs for that EDP format. To achieve this functionality, a new set of format configuration parameters must be set in the ST_CONFIG table specifically for this type of job and an EQuIS Link mapping project must exist that maps the data to the specified EDP format. See the EQuIS Format Definition Configuration article for more information.
