SPM_eQuote Format

Format Name: SPM_eQuote

File Name: SPM_eQuote.zip

Software: EQuIS SPM

Source: SPM install (and xcopies)

Export(s): Not Applicable

Description: The SPM_eQuote format is intended to create SPM contracts.

Installation Instructions: This format requires a licensed SPM and the SPM Schema applied to the database.

For SPM usage, no additional steps are necessary.

Overview: All necessary fields required for the creation of an SPM contract are included in this format. The SPM_Contract section can be used to create records in the DT_SPM_CONTRACT table, and the Lab_eQuote section can be used to populate all supporting information in the DT_SPM_CONTRACT_MAG, DT_SPM_CONTRACT_MAG_MEMBERS, DT_SPM_CONTRACT_METHOD, and DT_SPM_CONTRACT_CONTAINER tables.

A laboratory analytical contract must be setup in SPM prior to planning and scheduling the samples that will be collected as part of the SPM Plan. Contracts generally contain details for the analytes, analytical methods, containers, and costs for samples that will be submitted to the laboratory for a given SPM Plan. Laboratories may create and submit an eQuote (as an .XML or .XLSX file) with the data needed for the SPM analytical contract, which provides a more automated workflow and minimizes errors.

Limitations/Assumptions: The checks and mappings in any EDD format involve assumptions. The following are assumptions and limitations for the SPM_eQuote format.

As this format does not map to the DT_TEST table, there are no relevant Test Alternate Keys (TAKs).

If no plan code is referenced, the contract will upload as "shared".

An existing contract company code can be reused if a new contract start date is supplied to differentiate this new contract from an existing contract.

The SPM Contract MAG uses the Contract ID, the Method Analyte Group (MAG) Code, and the SPM Contract MAG (name) to create the Contract MAG record. This record's MAG ID is then used to group the SPM Contract MAG Member (CAS_RN) records as the MAG's analytes. Each analyte has a (test) method code linking to the SPM Contract Method. The SPM Contract Method uses the Contract ID and the Method Code to create the Contract Method record.

The SPM Contract MAG has two additional fields:

CAN_SUB_SELECT_YN – Specifies if the MAG members can be sub-selected, meaning they can be chosen individually when assigning them to a sample. See the SPM Advanced MAGs Tab article for details.

CONTRACT_MAG_DESC – A field to help describe the MAG or differentiate it from other MAGs.

The Lab_eQuote.container_size_unit field can be left blank to reuse the DT_SPM_CONTAINER.CONTAINER_SIZE_UNIT already set in an existing contract that matches on plan code and lab code.

To add or update the CONTAINER_SIZE_UNIT in the database (in RT_UNIT, RT_SPM_CONTAINER, DT_SPM_CONTAINER, and/or DT_SPM_CONTRACT_CONTAINER), the Lab_eQuote.container_size_unit field can be populated and the appropriate Commit Type used.

This format can be used to add records to several different reference tables in the database. All new reference values added to the database will automatically be given a status flag of ‘A’.

This format does not write to the RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBERS table. Thus, any new MAGs created using this format will effectively be empty in the database.
