The Slug Test is a specific type of aquifer test where the water is added or removed from a well, and the change is monitored through time to determine the aquifer characteristics like transmissivity/hydraulic conductivity. In EDGE, this form provides a user-configured custom form for slug measurement information. The Slug Test Form is used to populate a variety of sections in the EDGE EDD, dependent upon the configuration of the form. There is only one Slug Test Form available.

 

The Slug Test Form may be made visible using the “Show/Hide Tabs” item on the EDGE Menu as explained in Data Tab Chooser. To add data to the location, see Setup of Data Sections.

 

Using the Slug Test Form

 

Once setup is complete, the Depth Form is ready for use as follows:

 

1.Select the desired Task in the Task Chooser.

2.Select the desired Location in the Location Chooser.

3.Click New to create a new instance of the Slug Test Form for the selected Location.

4.Any data that already exists in the EDD will be pre-populated in the form.

5.Fill any relevant information in the Slug Test Section.

 

 

6.Click in the gray bar of the Slug Test Results Section and add an initial minute and a depth_to_water value.

 

 

7.Click in the subsequent gray bar to add new measurements.

8.Once the data is complete for the location, click Save.
