Report Name: Google Earth Wind Speed and Direction
Report Type: Standard by Request
Description: This report creates an animated "wind sock" at each location. The sock (i.e. red line) points in the direction the wind is blowing and the length of the sock indicates the relative wind speed.
This report includes data over the selected date range. You can drag the time slider, or press the Play button, to watch the values change over time.
The Google Earth output, which shows a table when clicking on a location, has been improved for readability by adding color to alternative rows.
•EQuIS Google Earth Reports do not actually require or directly use Google Earth or any other Google service, the reports merely create KML (*.kml, *.kmz) files. Some of the charts are created using Google Charts (by sending individual data points for the chart).
•Other applications besides Google Earth (such as ArcGIS Explorer) can read *.kml files - although EQuIS reports have not been tested extensively with anything other than Google Earth.
•An EQuIS license does not provide legal license or permission to use Google Earth. End user is responsible to make sure he/she is using Google Earth legally.

Input Parameters: A selection you make to customize the output of a report.
There are two input parameters that determine which DT_LOCATION_PARAMETER.PARAM_CODES values are used to find wind speed and direction in the database:
•@speed_params: defaults to WindSpd_MAX (expected unit is m/s)
•@direction_params: defaults to WindDir_SMx|WindDir_D1_WVT (expected unit is °)
If you use different parameter codes, you can change these defaults in ST_REPORT_PARAMETER or let the user select the desired code(s).
Database Type: SQL
Database Schema: Standard (no custom or add-on schemas required).
Database Version: Any 5.5+
Data Requirements: In order for locations to appear in this report:
1.DT_COORDINATE.COORD_TYPE_CODE must be like "*LAT*LONG*"
2.DT_COORDINATE.IDENTIFIER MUST be "Primary".
3.DT_LOCATION.LOC_TYPE must be populated.
4.DT_LOCATION.SYS_LOC_CODE must be populated.
5.DT_LOCATION.LOC_DESC must be populated before locations are clickable. DT_LOCATION.LOC_DESC is displayed in the 'callout box' when a location is clicked, if this option is selected.
