Flow Calculations

The purpose of this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is to detail the process for entering field data relating to ‘flow’ (stream, river, culvert etc) into the EQuIS database, and to explain the flow calculations that EDGE can perform.

A number of flow calculations are available with EDGE. In the EQuIS Professional Schema, there are DT_FLOW and DT_FLOW_MEASUREMENT and corresponding tables in the field EDD format and EDGE. Instant flow and/or velocity can be calculated in EDGE using the following methods:

•Culvert Flow Method

•Flow Curve Method

•Streamflow Method

•Volumetric Flow Method
