Error When Publishing Report *.dll

Affected Software/Reports/DLL(s): Professional

Affected Software Version: 5.6+

Symptoms: The error message below may appear when attempting to publish a report assembly to the database in EQuIS Professional.

This application tried to load a 32 bit application. Please restart this application in 32 bit mode to continue (To run in 32 bit mode run the EQuIS_x86.exe/EDP_x86.exe file from the EQuIS install directory - normally C:\Program Files\EarthSoft\EQuIS or, for per-user installation, %localappdata%\Programs\EarthSoft\EQuIS\).

This may occur even if the 32-bit version of EQuIS Professional is in use.

Files that are downloaded from the Internet are often blocked by the Windows Operating System security settings. This prevents Professional from correctly accessing report files. This error can also occur if the application is not run as Administrator.

1. Unblock the appropriate file(s) by following the directions here, or

2. Right-click on the application executable (e.g. EQuIS.exe, EQuIS_x86.exe, EDP.exe, EDP_x86.exe, EDGE.exe, etc.) and select Run As Administrator. The executable can be set to always run as administrator with a right-click, then select Properties, click on the Compatibility tab and select the option to Run this program as administrator.

The report is out of date and not compatible with the current version of EQuIS Professional.

Check the report version in the Report Publisher. If it is not current, contact the developer to get it recompiled to be up-to-date.

The report requires strong naming.

Refer to the documentation on Strongly Named Custom Assemblies.
