Introduction

The Sample Planning Module (SPM) is part of the EQuIS environmental data management workflow and provides an automated planning tool for sampling events. SPM eliminates repetitive, manual, error-prone data collection. SPM can also create Sample Analysis Plans that adhere to USEPA standards.

SPM is linked directly to the EQuIS database and can be used by to:

Plan, schedule, and track recurring sampling events.

View and download calendars for upcoming events.

Prepare and distribute electronic, pre-populated Chains of Custody (COCs).

Generate lists of scheduled tasks and samples.

Pre-populate EDGE or EQuIS Collect data entry forms to virtually eliminate location and sample ID data errors.

Generate Completeness Reports to compare lists of planned and completed tasks and samples.

While SPM includes an EDD export to the EDGE format, EDGE is not required to use SPM.

When the Collect Field EDD report is used in conjunction with the SPM, data fields on Collect forms relating to water levels, activities (or inspections), sampling, and COC handling can be pre-populated.
