DQM Check for Sample Units

The DQM Check for Sample Units verifies that sample results are reported with appropriate unit types. For this check to work properly, RT_UNIT.UNIT_TYPE of each unit used in the lab results must be populated with the appropriate values.

Check name is EarthSoft.DQM.VerifySampleUnits = Verify Sample Units.

This check uses the REPORTABLE_RESULT and RESULT_TYPE_CODE parameters from Global Parameters.

The check has two other parameters and they are:

unit_type – Defaults to “cpw, cpv”.

checkDefaultUnits – Defaults to “N”.

Notes:

The default value is used if there is no record in RT_DQM_CHECK_PARAM for an input parameter.

The default value is used if the PARAM_VALUE is NULL for this parameter in RT_DQM_CHECK_PARAM.

There are three rules:

1.INVALID SAMPLE UNIT TYPE = Qualify results if RT_UNIT.UNIT_TYPE of a lab result unit is not among the ones defined in the unit_type parameter.

2.MISSING SAMPLE UNIT TYPE = Qualify results if RT_UNIT.UNIT_TYPE of a lab result unit is missing.

3.NON-DEFAULT RESULT UNIT = Qualify results if checkDefaultUnits = "Y" and the lab result unit does not equal the RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBER.DEFAULT_UNITS.
