Field Results Grid and Non-Numeric Values

The Field Results Grid is part of the Field Samples data form. It is designed for entry of numeric sample chemistry data collected in the field.

To allow a non-numeric data entry for CAS_RN, a change in RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBER table is needed. Locate the entry for the CAS_RN, and set the remark value to EDGE_TEXT.

In addition to accepting numeric and non-numeric values, the Field Results Grid can accept "< X" and "> X" values, where X is a number and RESULT_VALUE is set to X. When a greater than symbol (">") is used with a field results value, the DETECT_FLAG field is set to ">". When a less than symbol ("<") is used, the DETECT_FLAG field is set to "N". When no symbol is used, the DETECT_FLAG field is set to "Y".

The number represented by X will be written to the RESULT_TEXT field and to the method detection, reporting detection, and quantitation detection limits. The < or > will be stored in the Interpreted qualifier field.
