Affected Software/Reports/DLL(s): EDP
Affected Software Version: N/A
Symptoms:
"You are running EDP as a 64-bit process. Please check to make sure have the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office installed on your machine."
Cause/Resolution:
1.This error occurs when there is a compatibility issue with the EDD being loaded into EDP, which may happen if the file is saved in an older version of Microsoft Excel (e.g. Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls) file type). Saving the EDD as an Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) file type should resolve the error.
2.This error may occur in EDP on machines running Microsoft Office 32-bit when attempting to load an EDD that is currently open in a Microsoft Office application (e.g., Excel, Access). Closing the open EDD should resolve the issue.
3.This error may also occur when running 64-bit EQuIS Professional on a machine where a 32-bit Microsoft Office Suite and ACE provider are installed. If 64-bit EQuIS Professional is installed, you will need to run Professional from the 32-bit executable file (\Program Files\EarthSoft\EQuIS\EQuIS_x86.exe).
4.If the file is not open in a Microsoft Office application when the error occurs, it may indicate that the user's Microsoft JET provider is out of date. The JET provider was replaced with ACE a couple of years ago. To resolve the error, you will need to install the ACE driver from the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13255
Also, the Microsoft Access Database Engine needs to be installed if missing (e.g., as available on the above-mentioned link: Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable).
Please note that you should download the ACE version that matches the bitness of your Microsoft Office Suite, not the bitness of your operating system.
5.Incorrect EDD formulas. Sometimes saving EDDs to SharePoint or an online site will alter Excel formulas/functions in the EDD and not be recognized by EDP.
