Custom Handler Error BC2006

Symptoms: In EDP, the following error may occur when attempting to open a format:

Could not compile custom handler: The following error(s) occurred while compiling custom handler:

vbc : Command line (0,0) : error BC2006: option 'r' requires':<file_list>'

Cause/Details: This error occurs, because EDP cannot find the custom handler or cannot compile the custom handler.

Resolution/Workaround: To correct this error:

1.Close EDP/Professional.

2.Copy and paste the [format name].dll, for example the ESBasic.dll:

From: C:\Program Files\EarthSoft\EQuIS\Formats\EarthSoft\dll folder

To: C:\Program Files (x86)\EarthSoft\EQuIS\Formats\EarthSoft\ where the actual format is stored.

3. Open EDP and retry the format.

It is often necessary to move the dll into the folder where the file format is stored as in some instances EDP has problems compiling the .dlls.
